QUALITY ENGINEERED PRODUCTS

We offer a broad range of innovative products formulated to provide cutting-edge, results-oriented solutions throughout the entire separation technology value chain - from primary separation products to production enhancement and supplemental products. These include:

Demulsifiers (aka emulsion breakers)

Our comprehensive line of demulsifiers outperform all others in separating the most difficult water-in-oil emulsions. Our demulsifiers are designed to resolve emulsions rapidly, increase the quantity and quality of saleable oil, minimize waste (rag layer), optimize the quality of the water phase, and reduce energy useage. They are tailor-made, complex blends of surfactants and co-surfactants, combined with solvents, co-solvents and various builders. Hydrophiles can be anionic, cationic, nonionic, amphoteric, or a combination of these and vary in their polarity and solubilities. Hydrophobes can be structured as linear, branched, cyclic, aromatic, polycyclic, polyaromatic, or a combination of these and cover a wide range of molecular weights and chemistries. This group also includes de-ashing compounds, de-hazing compounds, paraffin and asphaltene dispersants, and demulsifiers used in oilfield surfactant water flood (aka chemical EOR) projects. Green chemistry has recently become available and is a safe, economical and effective alternative.

Coagulants (aka clarifiers, polymers, demulsifiers, reverse emulsion breakers)

We offer the most comprehensive line of organic coagulants including polyamines, polyDADMACs, EPI-DMA, polyquaternaryamines, amine resins, mannics, tannins, epichlorohydrin analogs & derivatives, formaldehyde analogs & derivatives, specialty monomers, custom molecular weights, NSF-certified products, GRAS (safe) chemistry, FDA and Kosher applications. Organic coagulants can totally replace inorganic coagulants and offer the following benefits:
  • More economical; produce equal or better results at much lower dosages
  • Superior performance, especially when wastewater quality varies greatly
  • Work across a broad range of pH and alkalinity (reduces or eliminates pH adjustments)
  • Do not alter the pH of treated water
  • Are unaffected by chlorination
  • Do not add soluble metals to finished water
  • Minimize the volume of sludge generated
  • Reduce the total solids in treated water
  • Produce a more easily dewatered sludge
  • Safer and pose fewer problems in handling, feeding and storing
  • Help you meet water quality standards

Standard Flocculants (aka polymers, filter aid, settling aid)

When compared to our other products, standard flocculants are rather low-technology and plain; just like those offered by other chemical companies with the exception that we have about three times the selection. Wholesale Chemical is privileged to be a distributor for the three largest flocculant manufacturers in the U.S. We carry the typical selection of anionics, cationics, and nonionics in standard acrylamide-based chemistries. Structures include linear block copolymer, linear alternating copolymer, linear random copolymer and branched homopolymer. Flocculants are available in a broad range of molecular weights and charge densities, and in dry, emulsion, and brine forms.

Specialty Flocculants

Specialty flocculants include select monomers such as AETAC, APTAC, MAPTAC, METAC, DADMAC, ATBS, ADAME methyl chloride, MADAME methyl chloride, and sodium acrylate (plus combinations of these monomers), blocks of hydrophobic and hydrophilic monomer units, structures such as graft (comb) copolymer, star copolymer and dendrimer, ultra-high molecular weights, bioflocculants, NSF-certified products, GRAS (safe) chemistry, FDA and Kosher applications, and specialty products such as partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamides proven to control mobility in oilfield water flood (aka chemical EOR) projects.

Defoamers and Antifoams

Our comprehensive line of tailor-made defoamers and antifoams provide unsurpassed foam prevention, reduction and elimination. Defoamers provide immediate foam control, and antifoams provide persistent foam control. Chemistries include organic silicone-based, mineral oil-based, vegetable oil-based, ester-based, polyglycol-based, water-based (silicone), water-based (non-silicone), and various synthetic formulations. Surfactants incorporated are anionic, cationic, nonionic and/or amphoteric. Optional additives include hydrophobic silica and amorphous precipitated silica. Food grade and green chemistry is available.

Metals Precipitants

Our line of precipitants for removing dissolved heavy metals from wastewater include inorganics, organics, and inorganic/organic blends. Common obstacles to precipitating soluble metals include:
  • Fluids containing chelating agents (aka sequestering agents). Chelants form complexes with metal ions which block their reactions. As a result, simply raising pH will not precipitate the metal hydroxide salts. Metals must be removed using other reaction mechanisms. Fluids that typically contain chelants are detergents, metalworking fluids, electronics fluids, coolants, scale inhibitors, plating wastes, waste oils, mining wastes and boiler water.
  • Fluids containing multiple metals. Hydroxide precipitation, performed by adjusting pH of the contaminated wastewater, cannot precipitate all metals at a single pH. As pH is raised and one metal begins to precipitate, other metals begin to resolubilize (return to solution). For example, chromium precipitates best at a pH of 7.4, but zinc hasn't begun to precipitate at this pH. If pH is raised to 10.2, where zinc precipitates best, all the precipitated chromium hydroxide has resolubilized.
Today's high performing precipitants solve these problems. They work with chelated metal ions and across a broad pH range. Precipitates are insoluble, low-volume, non-toxic and meet TCLP stabilization requirements. Green chemistry is available.

Degreasers and Detergents (aka cleaners, soap)

Our industrial-use-only line of degreasers and detergents include alkaline, non-alkaline, non-emulsifying hard surface cleaners, quick-release cleaners, soot removers, road film removers, and anti-redeposition and anti-static builders to keep surfaces clean longer. Green chemistry is available.

Emulsifiers and Dispersants (aka surfactants)

Like our line of demulsifiers, our emulsifiers outperform all others. Application-specific properties can be met such as
  • efficient emulsification (little or no mixing required)
  • micro emulsions (aka colloids) or macro emulsions
  • stable or unstable dispersions
  • low-foam or high-foam
  • stable foam or unstable foam
  • ultra-low interfacial tension (IFT)
This group also includes emulsifiers proven in oilfield surfactant water flood (aka chemical EOR) projects. Green chemistry is available.

Microbial Products (aka microbes, bacteria, bioaugmentation)

Wholesale Chemical is a stocking distributor for the largest microbial products manufacturer in the world. We stock over 48 different microbial cultures that are stressed for robustness, and selectively adapted to metabolize specific chemical substrates. Once we know the type of system you have, your treatment objective, and the substrates present in your wastewater, we can select the optimal cultures, blend them in the proper ratios, and offer a tailor-made, stressed, adapted microbial blend product. Substrates of particular importance are heavy petroleum fractions, lubrication oils, crude oils, grease, triglycerides, naphthalenes, polynuclear aromatics, phenols, BTEX, chlorinated hydrocarbons, pentachlorophenol, glycols, surfactants, soaps, ethoxylated hydrocarbons, creosote constituents, long chain alcohols, methacrylates, animal fats, nitriles, amines, formaldehyde, cyanides, resorcinol, vinyl benzenes, lignins, tall oils, cellulose products, and reduced sulfur compounds such as H2S. We offer blends of Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter bacteria for ammonia removal by nitrification. We also offer bacteria that produce natural biopolymers, which enhances settling and compaction of activated sludge.

Technical Note: Our microbial products are selectively adapted to metabolize specific substrates. There is a great difference between selectively adapted microbes and acclimated or acclimatized microbes. Adaptation occurs over many generations, whereas acclimatization occurs during a single lifetime and copes with issues that are less threatening. Always demand selectively adapted microbes.
